Simple Cooking For a Boating Trip

After a great day of sailing, you get ready to get back home. How you wish you could get some food on deck itself; it could give you a chance to spend some time more on the water. Here is a lovely salad recipe that is mouthwatering, easy to make, healthy and wholesome. If you also happen to do a little fishing, and have caught a salmon- voila!

To make this wonderful Summer Salmon Salad for eight, you will need 8 salmon steaks, 1 pack of unsalted mixed fruits and nuts, 1 pack mixed green salad like watercress, spinach, and rocket, 1 pack vegetable stir fry, olive oil and lemon.

Cook new potatoes in boiling salted water for about 15-20 minutes. If there is a space on the hob, wrap the salmon steaks in tin foil and bake for about 15 minutes. You also can fry them in olive oil until cooked. Take separate bowls and put salad in each of them. Serve the raw stir fried vegetables with fruits and nuts to give it crunchiness along with the green salad with olive oil and a little dressing.

Salmon is seafood known to be rich in proteins and raw vegetables are a rich source of vitamins. You may also choose to omit the potatoes for a lighter lunch or supper. This is such a healthy and tasty meal to be enjoyed while on a boating trip. What more could you ask for?

Choosing a Boating Holiday

A boating holiday could actually be a lot of fun, if you know how to arrange it! You might want to go on a week long fishing vacation in your boat or just go cruising, or might even want to hire a charter for that matter. Unless you know how to go about it, the entire thing could turn into a series of real confusing trips with no fun involved.

So, how do you go about it? The first thing you will need to do is narrow down your options. You need to decide the type of boating holiday that will suit you the best. Are you planning a family boating holiday or do you want it to be a romantic getaway, a singles trip or a wannabe sailor trip? If you are a little skeptical about being in the water for the first time, a boating holiday in inland waters in a great idea. Being close to the land will give a sense of security; no, you will not miss out the most tranquil of streams.

Boat charters, rentals, all offer you to your favorite destination with a little money. From the Caribbean to the Down Under Australia, pick your favorite spot and head out. But do some homework before hand. Check for the off seasons and when you could possible get a nice weather. You might also want to go for a little sightseeing and shopping. Look for charters that cater to such diversionary activities.

Kids have loads of fun on a boating holiday and you would obviously want to take them along. But make sure that you are not compromising on their safety. Confirm with the charters what extra safety measures they take when it comes to kids and that you are satisfied with it. It is better to be safe on a boating holiday; it might be fun but you are traveling on water so you need to be extra safe. Let some one back home know about your schedule and expected time of return- just in case. Make the most of your boating holiday away from the stress and strain of an otherwise routine life.
